EXTRAORDINARY

It was a scheduled meeting with a group of young friends in a school in Bauchi state, Nigeria. The organizing staff had notified the students of my visit. On my arrival, nothing was set. The hall empty, the students were engaged with sporting activities. The big question was, how do we get them into the hall?

After much efforts by the school prefects, and very little response from the students, I did the extraordinary.  Though I was a guest to the school and the students, I walked to the play ground and into some classes. Told the students I was here to meet with them and would appreciate it if they would move to the hall. Interestingly it worked.

As a leader, sometimes you have to do the 'extra' to get the extraordinary. The extra may require you to pull off your boss coat, fold up your sleeves and get into the mud. The 'extra' may require you to push more than you have before, to stay up longer than you have before or to wait longer than you do.

Having the right character to influence others is a per-requisite to being extraordinary. Build your world and please make it extraordinary.

KIFIX

'Kifi' is a Hausa word for fish. Like I asked students of St. Louis girls secondary school, what if you walked through a store or you are browsing on the website of a bakery, and you saw a bread with the shape of a fish? What would be your reaction? I am guessing you have an answer like the ones they gave "I would be attracted." "I would want to taste it." That conversation gave birth to kifix.ng, it is the domain name for kifix bakery.

The mind is not bereaved of ideas, it only lacks provocation or in other words stimulation. The reason why outstanding leaders remain on top of their game, is because they not only work diligently, but they surround their environment with thought provocative conversations.

Don't be intimidated by your challenges, stay inspired by deliberately creating your inspiration. Build your world and please make it inspire you all day long.

Digitalskills

The growing use of mobile devices and the internet is creating unchallengeable opportunities in various aspects of the African society.

New ideas, innovative concepts,  have now changed the face of business. The old rulers of business and the financial world are giving way to new digitally driven businesses. Hence jobs and services are shifting base from conventional to digital.

This dramatic change has increased the demand for youths with digitalskills, but this growing demand is not adequately met. TIME Prt 1

People often say, "I have written several plans and after a while I do nothing about them. I am not just the plan kind of person."

In my effort to understand what single factor affects these friends I have discovered the time management factor. The process principle demands that every second, minute and hour should be accounted for in your daily plan. People can easily set a target, but find it difficult to build time into the process of achieving the set target.

Take this lesson now:
Make each hour count. After each hour ask your self - What am I doing? Or what am I supposed to do now?

PLANNING TO BE 50

One error people make is to neglect the fact that every boy must one day be a man.

Some time in September this year I visited a family, the food they served was so tasty. Rice, moi moi, vegetable sauce and chicken. I found it difficult to pick which one to eat last so that the taste would remain in my mouth. As I leveled the plate I wished I would be offered some more food. And I was offered but I turned it down. For only one reason, my stomach was full but my appetite needed more. If I listened to my appetite I would pay for it later.

Many people listen to their appetite more than their stomach. Have you pondered on the fact that one day you would be 50? What and who would you be at 50? Plan today, make your choices today as a plan for you at 50.

Your stomach can get satisfied but your appetite is insatiable. Listen to your 50years old voice and make a plan today.

Always remember;

It is better that a man bear his burden in the day of his youth.

PLANNING

I was 16years when I had this desire to be great. so I set out to know what made great men great. It is over 10years now and I am still discovering what makes a man become great.

Lets share from my bank of resources gathered over the past 14years.

One unique skill great people posses is PLANNING - that unique ability to set a target and put available resources together to achieve the set target.

So let me as two questions, please you don't have to answer me. write that answer in a book.

Alright, when you identify your plan and your available resources, you should apply the principle of process. That principle is built on the premise of one step at a time. Take your first step towards your plan. And then the next, and the next. Please always remember these two things:

Start early - early preparation saves cost.

And

Don't give up.
